Paint Correction

Machine polishing that restores depth, clarity and reflection.

Swirl marks, holograms, dealer wash marks and oxidation are refined out of the clear coat — the essential foundation before any ceramic coating is applied.

What it is

Paint Correction — explained plainly.

Paint correction is a controlled machine polishing process that levels the very top of the clear coat to remove or reduce defects. Done properly it restores gloss and reflection; done poorly it burns through paint. Experience matters.

  • Removes swirls & holograms

Rotary and dual-action machines refine the marks left by poor washing and dealer polishing.

  • Reduces oxidation

Restores clarity and colour depth on sun-faded paint common on the Gold Coast.

  • Prepares paint for coating

Ceramic coatings need corrected paint to bond to and to show their true gloss.

  • Preserves clear coat

Measured, staged correction removes only what is needed — not more.

  • The Process

    How the work is done.

    1. Step 01

      Safe wash & decontamination

Loose contamination and bonded fallout are removed before any pad touches the paint.

    2. Step 02

      Paint depth reading

Thickness is measured on representative panels to confirm safe working range.

    3. Step 03

      Test spot

Pad and compound combinations are trialled to reach the required cut with minimal removal.

    4. Step 04

      Machine correction

Panels are worked systematically, refined down to a finishing polish for maximum clarity.

    5. Step 05

      Panel wipe & inspection

Every panel is inspected under multiple light sources and prepared for protection.

    FAQs

    Straight answers.

Questions we're asked most often about this service.

Can every defect be polished out?

No. Deep scratches that reach the base coat cannot be safely removed. We inspect first and set honest expectations.

Correction removes a thin layer of clear coat. Done conservatively by an experienced hand it is safe; done aggressively it can be permanent.

Correction without protection means the paint is exposed. Most clients pair correction with a sealant or ceramic coating.
