Answers before you book
Common questions we hear from Gold Coast vehicle owners.
How does a ceramic coating actually work?
In plain English: silica-based (SiO₂) coatings chemically bond to a properly prepared clear coat, curing into a hard, slick, hydrophobic surface. Titanium-enhanced formulas add gloss and durability. Nothing here removes the need for correct surface preparation — that is where the finish is made or lost.
Is ceramic coating worth it on a new car?
Yes — provided the paint is properly prepared first. A new car often has transport marks, holograms and light swirls under the lights, and a coating locks all of that in unless the paint is corrected beforehand.
Do new cars need paint correction?
Most new vehicles benefit from at least a paint enhancement. It's common to find swirl marks and dealer wash marks on delivery, even on premium brands.
Does ceramic coating stop scratches?
No. Ceramic coating helps resist minor wash-induced marks and environmental contamination, but it is not scratch-proof or stone-chip-proof. Paint protection film (PPF) is a different product designed to resist impact damage.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Durability depends on the product, preparation and how the vehicle is maintained. Eligible packages using Fireball can carry up to a 10-year manufacturer warranty on selected automotive packages. Warranty terms and maintenance requirements apply.
What surfaces are included?
The standard package covers painted panels. Wheels, exterior glass and exterior trims can be added or included depending on the package selected.
How should a coated vehicle be washed?
Use the two-bucket method with a pH-neutral shampoo, clean microfibre wash mitts and separate towels for panels and wheels. Avoid automatic brush car washes.
How long will you need the vehicle?
Timeframes depend on the package and paint condition. Most jobs are between one and several days — we confirm this at the time of quoting.
Can ceramic coating be applied to an older vehicle?
Yes. Older vehicles often benefit the most from correction and coating, provided the paint is in a suitable condition after inspection.
What is the difference between ceramic coating and PPF?
Ceramic coating is a thin, hard, hydrophobic layer that protects gloss and eases maintenance. PPF is a thicker urethane film that absorbs impact from stone chips and scratches. They solve different problems and can be used together.
Is your window tint legal in Queensland?
Yes. All tint is installed within Queensland's legal VLT (visible light transmission) limits.
Do you coat caravans and motorhomes?
Yes — this is a specialised part of the business, using coatings suited to large travel surfaces, oxidation and long-term storage.
