What Mitsubishi owners should know
The Outlander was one of Australia's ten best-selling vehicles last year and the Triton wasn't far behind. From ASX and Outlander family SUVs to the Outlander and Eclipse Cross plug-in hybrids that charge at home, Tritons on job sites and Pajero Sports towing the van, Mitsubishis are bought to be kept and driven hard, which is exactly why the paint deserves proper protection from day one.
We protect every kind of Mitsubishi:
Black and dark grey Outlanders and Tritons look sharp clean and show every wash mark in Gold Coast sun. Most of those swirls go in at the car wash, not on the road.
Tritons work job sites and tow, and Pajero Sports head up the beach or off-road. A coated finish lets mud, salt and sand rinse off instead of being scrubbed in, and a coated work ute stays presentable between washes.
Plenty of Tritons and Pajeros are kept for ten years or more, and paint that lives outside that long goes dull and tired. Most of it can be brought back with correction; if the clear coat has started to fail, we'll tell you honestly before you spend anything.
An Outlander or Eclipse Cross plug-in hybrid charges at home and parks outside everywhere else. Cameras, sensors and the charge flap are masked and worked around by hand, never machined or coated over, and a coated finish rinses clean far easier around them.
Like most new vehicles, a Mitsubishi leaves the factory with a modern colour coat under a clear coat. It polishes up beautifully, which is good news for correction, but it won't stay that way on its own. Left unprotected, wash swirls and Queensland UV start dulling it from the first summer, whatever the model and whatever the colour.
