Mirror caps, door handles and spoilers come up again and again as the first place Kia paint fails - well before any panel does. They are the easiest thing on the car to check and the best early warning you will get.
Snow White Pearl draws more reports than anything else in the range. Owners describe paint lifting away in sheets rather than fading or chipping, which is a very different problem to a car that simply needs correcting.
The horizontal panels take the UV load and are where clear coat failure is most often reported on older Sportages. Once the clear has gone, the colour underneath has no protection left at all.
This is the honest limit on a Kia. If the paint is already letting go of what is underneath it, nothing applied on top will hold it down - it will keep lifting with a very expensive layer on it. We would rather check and tell you than take the job.
