What Holden owners should know
Holden sold its last new cars in 2020, and the Commodore alone sold more than 1.6 million here. The ones still on Gold Coast roads are kept because their owners want them: a Commodore or Ute that's part of the family, a Colorado that still does the work, an SS, HSV or Statesman that only comes out on weekends. Bringing the paint back and protecting it is how you keep it looking the part.
We protect every kind of Holden:
Clear coat that's been in Queensland sun for a decade goes hazy and then cloudy before it starts to separate. Reds and silvers often show it first. Caught before it separates, it corrects; after that it needs paint, and we'll tell you which you've got.
Most older cars have had at least one panel redone, and repaired paint behaves differently to factory paint under a machine. Fresh paint also has to finish curing before anything is coated over it.
An SS, HSV or Statesman that lives under a cover picks up fine scratches every time the cover goes on and off or a dry cloth goes over it, on top of the swirls from years of washing. Correction takes those out, and a coating means it gets rinsed clean instead of dusted.
A Holden Ute or Colorado that still tows, carts and does beach runs gets mud, salt and sand on it. A coated finish lets that rinse off instead of being scrubbed into ageing paint.
Every Holden is now at least six years old, and most have spent that time parked outside in Queensland sun. The starting point is usually oxidation, fade and years of wash swirls rather than delivery marks, often with a panel or two that's been resprayed along the way. What the paint has left decides what can be done, so every Holden is measured panel by panel before any machine work.

Yes. The machine polish brings the gloss back first, then the coating keeps it there.
We measure it and tell you honestly. Faded, hazy clear coat usually corrects. Clear coat that has started to lift needs a paint shop first, and we’ll say so before you spend anything.
Swirls and light scratches are polished out as part of the package.
Typically one day or overnight. Cars that stay overnight are kept safely in our garage.

Give it a week, then a gentle pH-neutral wash is all it needs.
We don’t. We haven’t found an interior product worth the usual charge, so we’d rather you kept the money.
