What Tesla owners should know
The Model Y was Australia's best-selling electric car in 2025 and Tesla the top-selling EV brand, so there are plenty of them on Gold Coast roads. Whether yours is a new Model Y, a Model 3 or an older Model S or X, the paint lives outside under Queensland sun and goes through a lot of washes, and it rewards being corrected and protected early.

Dust nibs, orange peel and the odd sanding mark turn up in factory paint on plenty of new cars. Some can be refined out and some sit under the clear coat and can't. A proper inspection on a new Tesla tells you which is which before anything gets coated in.
The darker Tesla colours look superb clean and show every wash mark in Gold Coast sun. Most of those swirls go in at the car wash or with a dry towel, not on the road.
