What Audi owners should know
The Q3 and Q5 were Audi's two best sellers in Australia last year, but an Audi on the Gold Coast is just as likely to be an RS or S model that gets driven properly, or a Q4 e-tron, Q6 e-tron or e-tron GT that charges in the garage. Whichever one you drive, those sharp creases and metallic finishes show every swirl and water spot in Gold Coast sun, so the paint deserves proper preparation and protection.
We protect every kind of Audi:
Mythos Black, Daytona Grey and the darker metallics show every wash mark in direct sun. Most of those swirls go in at the car wash or with a gritty mitt, not on the road.
Audi's tight shoulder lines and crisp edges carry less paint on the edge than across the flat of a panel. They're taped and worked separately so the correction never thins them out.
RS and S models, and plenty of everyday Audis, wear gloss black grilles, mirror caps and window trims that scratch more easily than the paint around them and show every fingerprint. They get a lighter process of their own before the coating goes on.
The Q4 e-tron, Q6 e-tron and e-tron GT carry cameras, sensors and a charge port flap that are masked and worked around by hand, never machined or coated over. An EV that lives on a charger in the garage still picks up wash swirls, so it gets the same correction and protection as any other Audi.
Like every modern car, an Audi leaves the factory with a water-based colour coat under a clear coat. That clear coat is the only thing between the colour and Queensland UV, bird droppings and the car wash, and once it's polished away it doesn't come back. We read the paint first, correct only as much as the car needs, then lock the finish in under Fireball.

How the job runs
A good ceramic coating will lock in whatever is under it (for up to 10 years!). That’s why every Audi gets a full day of preparation before a drop of coating goes on.
