The Macan was Porsche's best seller in Australia last year and it's the Porsche we're asked about most, ahead of the Cayenne. The new Macan is electric, the Taycan and Cayenne Electric sit alongside it, and the 911 and 718 are still the cars that come out on weekends. Whichever one you drive, Porsche paint shows every swirl, holographic polishing mark and water spot in Gold Coast sun, so the preparation matters as much as the coating.
We protect every kind of Porsche:
Jet Black, Gentian Blue, Volcano Grey and the other dark metallics have nowhere to hide a swirl in Gold Coast sun. Most of those marks go in during washing and drying, not on the road.
Machine polishing done in a hurry, or with the wrong pad, leaves hazy holograms that only show in direct light. We inspect under LED and swirl-finder lighting so they're found and refined out, not buried under a coating.
A 911, 718 or GTS that lives under a cover between drives picks up fine scratches every time the cover is dragged over dusty paint, and a quick dust with a dry cloth does the same. A coated finish rinses clean far more easily, so the car gets washed properly instead of wiped.
Porsche's electric models carry cameras, sensors and charge port flaps that are masked and worked around by hand, never machined or coated over. A Macan or Cayenne that does the school run, the beach and the car park also gets a finish that lets salt, sand and road film rinse off instead of being scrubbed in.
Porsche paints its cars with a modern water-based colour coat under a clear coat, like every manufacturer now. What sets a Porsche apart is how much it shows: deep metallics, big curved surfaces and owners who notice every mark. The clear coat is thin and once it's polished away it doesn't come back, so we correct with finishing pads and the least aggressive approach that clears the defect, then protect it under Fireball.
