What Jeep owners should know
The Grand Cherokee is the most-sold Jeep in Australian history, with the Wrangler and Cherokee behind it, and the range also takes in the Gladiator ute and the Compass and Avenger SUVs. Whether yours does school runs, beach runs or proper trails, a Jeep is bought to be used and kept, and the paint takes the hits: sun, salt, sand and scrub.
We protect every kind of Jeep:
Branches and scrub leave fine scratches along the doors and guards. Light marks usually polish out; deeper ones we'll show you honestly. A coating won't stop scrub, but it makes the clean-up after a trip much quicker.
Salt and sand sit in every seam after a beach drive. A coated finish lets them rinse off instead of being scrubbed into the paint, which in practice is the difference between a Jeep that gets washed properly and one that doesn't.
Specks of dust or debris cured into the paint at the factory sit under the clear coat, not on it, and can't be polished out without taking the clear with them. We'll point them out rather than pretend a coating will hide them.
Bubbling paint on any vehicle is usually corrosion starting underneath, and coating over it seals the problem in. We check door bottoms, seams and around hardware and flag anything before a coating goes on.
A Jeep's factory finish is a colour coat under a clear coat like any modern vehicle, and no two that come through the door are in quite the same condition. Some arrive near perfect; others have flaws cured in at the factory or years of trail and car-wash marks. That's why every Jeep gets multiple depth readings per panel before any machine work, and why we'll tell you plainly what can and can't be polished out.
